2010 Barcelona – Day 1

I woke up around 0300. Actually I first had to get up around 0500, the worse were the following two hours, which I had spent on one side, then throwing on the other side in bed to wake up sometime and look at the clock. 0456 that’s the way it always comes, it was clear. Coffee made and terribly trembled, because the heating only starts automatically around 0600. A short look in front of the door brought the result that it was not white outside as expected. On the evening before it had started to snow, which luckily did not remain, because the temperature was about 0°. Something in the net surfed and on Telepolis the newest messages read. With DE it goes further and further downhill. Then the morning toilet finished, read on and packed my stuff into the bigger AMI backpack. Heaters set to 10°C again, time to get off to the train. Two stations from Söllingen station to Berghausen Stadium, where Peter my nice wise driver was already waiting for me.

2009 Florida – Day 1 – Orlando

The plane went around 0930 from Frankfurt to Chicago and from there on to Orlando. Afterwards this was one of my worst flights I ever had and at the same time my first intercontinental flight. I think that I flew with American Airlines at that time. At that time there were still. Shortly afterwards I flew with Delta and United and they didn’t really give each other anything. The plane was old and the seats in the economy were extremely tight. Maybe it seemed like that to me at that time.

2012 China – Day 3 – 02.06.2012 – Tianjin

I got up without any problems around 0430. After the shower I packed my stuff, threw the network cable behind the table and left the room. Outside it was already bright and hardly anything was going on. More was already going on at the station. Numerous travellers waited in the waiting room. Since two trains should depart shortly behind each other I asked one next to me if this is already the boarding procedure. He said no, but shortly afterwards again yes, because both trains arrive at the same time. On the platform I had to wait 10 minutes until the other train left. That was a bit pointless.

2009 Egypt – Day 1 – Cairo

Sphinx und Pyramiden in Gizah, Ägypten

Actually this trip had been planned differently, but R. jumped in to briefly explore Egypt. The flight to Cairo departed around 0100 from Berlin Tempelhof airport, where we had parked the car somewhere nearby. That was of course quite a stupid time for a flight to get somewhere. The flight lasted about 4 hours and went over Eastern Europe and then always along the Nile. Although it was dark, it looked quite interesting from above with all the lights and roads. The entry procedure consisted of some fee, the delivery of a photo and something that was attached to the perso. Outside we were picked up by someone and taken to the hotel. On the drive through the whole of Cairo one saw again and again entrenched guards on the streets and at the corners.

2011 Morocco – Day 2 – Marrakech

Around 0530 I was woken up by the muezin, who spread his message with an insane volume. Nevertheless I turned around and went to the roof terrace for breakfast around 0700. The view from there was not very spectacular and also the temperatures were not very high. Only the rising sunshine brought some warmth. For breakfast we had flatbread with all kinds of sweets. Two older Italians were also there and disappeared again. The roof terrace had an approx. 3 m x 3 m wide opening, which reached two floors to the ground floor. The building was thus open to the top. In order to be now armed against rain a plastic foil was stretched out as funnel in it, which ended in a hose and led off the water with rain.
