ZAVELSTEIN, GERMANY: Burg Zavelstein is located in the northern Black Forest in Germany. It is a ruin of a castle that was built around 1200. The castle was destroyed in 1692 and has been abandoned since then. The clearest remnant is the 28 m high tower, which is still in good condition today. Parts of the outer walls remain from the rest of the castle. The castle can be visited free of charge. Only for the ascent to the tower you have to pay 50 ct.
Our weekly Sunday excursion took place this time in the French Vosges. The Vosges are a low mountain range in the east of France near the Rhine plain. The Vosges are full of historic buildings and the Saint Ulrich ruin is one of them. The ruin is located not far from the small town of Ribeauville on a hill with a beautiful view over the Rhine Valley.
Actually, we wanted to go to our garden. From the garden we always saw a castle on a mountain. The castle is the castle Teck in the federal state Baden Württemberg in Germany. So we decided to stop by and see if a trip there would be worth it. From the parking lot it was not then nevertheless so far and we went spontaneously the right steep ascent to the castle.
Around 0700 we woke up again and packed our things quickly. We had already paid the hotel on the evening before to get away faster that generally has the disadvantage that one pays before but also the advantage of the fast deduction, because often 0800 first of all nothing goes at all in the hotel and the suitable people must be found first.Continue reading “🇲🇦 2015 Morocco – Day 4 – Taroudant / Legzira (Sidi Ifni)”
We awoke again quite early between 0700 – 0800. Also at night there was not again this quake of the waves. But the waves did not reach the house, what you could see by the tracks in the sand. Probably the swell was a bit more violent at that time. The morning was extremely foggy, humid and cold directly at the sea only a few meters away from the water.Continue reading “🇲🇦 2015 Morocco – Day 5 – Legzira (Sidi Ifni)”
Early it was humid and cold. Everything was clammy, so that I constantly mumbled my new name for the place before me: Klammottens Klamm. It was high time to start from here, although it is certainly not bad. But there are more and other things to see. But this day we stayed here. Early was beside the 100 % humidity also fog and some cold. For example, we had no heating in our room.Continue reading “🇲🇦 2015 Morocco – Day 6 – Legzira (Sidi Ifni)”
We wanted to leave early because we still had a long way to go. It got wetter and wetter in Klammottens Klamm. The route should go via Tiznit to Tafrout. We drove past Mirleft again, but there was nothing to see. No idea what should be there. after Mirleft it went again more inland. These strange huge insects had decided to make a migration. On the way from Mirleft to Sidi Ifni thousands of these cigarette box-sized animals were on the road. They crawled slowly from left to right across the road.Continue reading “🇲🇦 2015 Morocco – Day 7 – Legzira (Sidi Ifni) / Tafraoute”
Due to the climate it had been extremely pleasant at night. In contrast to the sea it had been much warmer in Tafraout. But this was no comparison to the 43 degrees in Marrakech. Somehow we had to do the whole time with temperature changes. In Marrakesh and Taroudant still over 40 degrees and at the sea evening felt 10 degrees. That was maybe even 15 degrees. At some point the current began to cause problems as announced. We had already forgotten that. In quite short distances it was there and left again. This led to my battery charger for the e-cigarettes giving up the ghost. Here we stood before a quite addiction problem, since nobody had thought of it. I also had an AC/DC converter with me, but somehow the cigarette lighter didn’t work.Continue reading “🇲🇦 2015 Morocco – Day 8 – Tafraoute / Ouarzazate”
