2009 Egypt – Day 2 – Alexandria

At some point we decided to make a detour to Alexandria. The only option is the train, which is why we started early on our way to the station. Coming from Gizah we took the bus which brought us directly to the station. In the station there was a ticket counter and somehow we could make ourselves understandable and got two tickets for the next train to Alexandria. The train waited already at the track so that we could get on after a cigarette break immediately. Sometime the train departed and went forever through Cairo and the suburbs of Cairo along the Nile delta to the north to the coast.

2011 Morocco – Day 3 – Marrakech

The Muezin began again quite early with his daily work. But I didn’t care about that around 0600. Around 0730 I got up, after I had noticed how the English girls had gone away. I visited the roof terrace with nearly the same result as the day before, only the Italians were missing. So I took some pita bread and jam, not without consuming plenty of tea and cigarettes. Somehow nobody was awake at this time, although the hostel was quite well occupied. From the alleys I heard again the typical noise of the people, dealers and moped drivers. I went into the bathroom for a shower. This should be one of the few warm showers of the tour. Or at least permanently warm showers.

2009 Egypt – Day 3 – El Fayoum

We got up again pretty early to see something. Somehow we had the idea to drive to Al Fayum, but I don’t know if we decided to do it in the evening or spontaneously after leaving the hotel when we saw the minibuses at one corner. In retrospect it seems to me that we had done this quite spontaneously. Not far from our hotel in direction south was a big roundabout in which many such small buses stopped. At the roundabout there was of course also again such a MG contactor position.

2011 Morocco – Day 4 – Essaouria

The morning it had lasted then nevertheless until approx. 0900 until I came from the bed. Did also nothing, since my bus should drive only against 1300 and I did not really know what I should look at now. So I got ready, grabbed my still not quite dry things from the terrace, recharged all my batteries and finally said goodbye to Maschud. I missed the obligatory breakfast at the Jeema this time. I went back north through the medina to the exit where the bus station is.
