2017 Western Australia Intro

Because of my more or less regular stays in Sydney we decided this year to spend our annual vacation in Australia. The plan was that M. would first come to Sydney and then we would fly to Western Australia, rent a car there and then buy some equipment from a friend and finally go somewhere. Until the evening before the trip we really didn’t know where we were going. I had already arrived in Sydney two days before with Air China and M. arrived on Sunday with Emirates. My flight was really cheap and quite empty. At M. the flight was full and expensive. All in all we completed two times Sydney and in between Western Australia with 6100 km in the car. The route there went from Perth to Coogee, Rottnest, then north, Shark Bay, Coral Bay, Karijini National Park and via Newman back to Meekatharra and Kalgoorlie. While Sydney is almost always very relaxed by the climate, Western Australia was riddled with adversities. But that’s what it’s all about.

2015 Morocco – Day 9 – Ouarzazate / Mhamid

The night at Hotel Nadia was quite strange. Maybe that was due to the shabby equipment of the room. Somehow there were bedbugs. We drove into the center on the main road, which was called Mohammed V or something like that, as always, directly at the Hotel Royal. Next to the hotel there was a coffee where we had breakfast. We sat down, ordered and somehow waited forever. Such an Omlette and, coffee is now no witchcraft and guests were also hardly there. Finally I had to go in later to pay to speed up the whole thing. Directly opposite there is a Liquor Store. It is somehow not properly hidden, but also not directly recognizable. If someone is looking for it, it is quite directly opposite the Hotel Royal. So about.

2015 Morocco – Day 10 – Mhamid / Merzouga

This time we got up even earlier than usual. Overnight it was really cool in the room. Unfortunately there was no hot water and the toilet had to be flushed with a bucket. Overnight I had to suffer again attacks of bedbugs, which bit me this time clearly. That clouded this actually great hotel a little bit. The day before I had to drive the car next door into a lockable parking lot, although I insisted to leave it at the road. When we were finished there was of course nobody to be seen. We went to the locked gate and I tried to get it open somehow when a hotel hiwi arrived and opened the gate. I was waiting for him to want a dollar, but he did not. So I gave him 20 Dh for the tea from the day before and we left again towards Zagora, because we still had a good distance to Merzouga.
