A business trip took me to Finland for four days in November 2021. For me, it was my first trip to the country. I had booked a flight to Helsinki and then drove with a rental car, about 200 km to Turku and later back again. Due to the winter season it was always quite early dark and the days very short.

Winter in 2021 was getting closer and closer and it was once again an opportunity to walk around a bit in beautiful autumnal weather with lots of bright colors. This hike led us again in de area Stromberg in Baden Württemberg in Germany on a route of about 17 km through fields and forest, as always in a circle.

We went to Italy for a week to relax a bit and see the unknown area of Tuscany. The two of us rented a whole house for 60€ a day. This is much cheaper than a hotel and at the same time has much more comfort. The house was about 15 minutes by car from the Tuscan beach in Viareggio, a well-known tourist area.

Cararra was not far from our house by the sea. A visit to the mines was therefore naturally on the agenda. The famous white marble has been mined in Cararra for over 2500 years. Everything in the area is about marble. Here we were in a stalactite cave in the mountains and in the mines of Cararra.

After the strenuous hikes and the crisis, we had earned a short holiday at the Italian sea. We chose the town of Viareggio in Tuscany. While my Companion lay around by the sea, I used the time for a few drives through the surrounding area. I visited Pisa, Florence, Siena, Luca and a few other smaller towns.
