Grande Traversata delle Alpi (GTA) 2022 – Refugio Rivetti to Refugio Madonna della Neve

The second stage on the Grande Traversata delle Alpi (GTA) in 2022 went from Refugio Rivetti to Refugio Madonna della Neve on the opposite side. The descent from Refugio Rivetti is strenuous and long, but the following ascent is relatively short, so you can be at the Refugio shortly after noon or even at midday. Last year the bridge was washed away by a storm and flooding. In fact, this time the river was cleaned up and a new bridge was already ready. The bridge was also actually built in the old style. On the way up, the many rockslides had to be overcome again, but this time already with much easier paths.

The Grande Traversata delle Alpi (GTA) is a spectacular long-distance trekking route that winds its way through the Italian Alps.
